Jets sign Stephen Hill to 4-year deal

Admin - May 3, 2012

WR Stephen Hill, who was drafted by the Jets in the second round of this year's draft, agreed to a 4-year deal worth around $5M, which includes $2.8M in guaranteed money. The Gang Green traded up to select Hill, giving up 5th and 7th round picks to move up four spots in the second round to select him.

Hill, 6'4", 215 lbs was one of the fastest players in this draft. His speed and athletic ability drew comparisons with WR Randy Moss and WR Calvin Johnson. Hill is expected to start alongside WR Santonio Holmes and finally give the Jets the so much needed deep thread that they have been lacking since the departure of WR Braylon Edwards.

Hill became the first Jets' rookie to sign a contract. It's believed that he and 2nd round WR Alshon Jeffery (Bears) are the only two draft picks that have signed.
