Jets QBs top NFL most overrated poll

Admin - October 25, 2012

The New York Jets quarterbacks, Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow, finished first and second in the NFL's most overrated players poll conducted by the Sports Illustrated among 180 league players. Tebow was a runaway winner with 34% of the vote, while Sanchez shared the second place with Dallas' QB Tony Romo - both received 8% of the vote. Rounding out the top five in the overrated poll were Philadelphia's QB Michael Vick (4%), and Baltimore's LB Ray Lewis (3%).

In May, the NFL Network released its player poll of the top 100, with Tebow in the #95 spot. This season Tebow has played only 55 snaps, throwing for just 32 yards and rushing for 76 more in seven games this season.

Meanwhile, Mark Sanchez found himself on another not so pleasant list this week - the list of the worst NFL contacts. The Jets' starting quarterback has a 3-year contract worth $40.4M, while he is at a career-low 53.2 completion percentage. The Jets are more than $7M over next year's cap, and Sanchez has a $10M guarantee in 2013. It would be hard to get rid of him.

The Jets are favored by 2.5 points against the Miami Dolphins, and if you'd like to place a bet on the Gang Green, you can find sports betting here.
