Jets Player Release

Jets cut Dimitri Patterson

Admin - August 30, 2014

In a rather expected move the New York Jets cut CB Dimitri Patterson who was recently suspended by the team for going AWOL for 48 hours. Patterson, 31, was signed by the Gang Green as a free agent earlier this year. He played in the first two preseason games but then disappeared before the game against the Giants.

The Jets will most likely try to add a veteran cornerback to their roster. CB Dee Milliner, the team's best corner, is uncertain for the season opener against the Oakland Raiders. CB/S Antonio Allen impressed in training camp but has very little experience playing at the cornerback position. CB Kyle Wilson, a former first round pick, has been pretty horrible as a starter when given the opportunity. Rookie CB Dexter McDougle tore his ACL in preseason and will miss the entire season.

CB Champ Bailey, a former All Pro, who was released by the Saints might be on the Jets' radar.
