Jets lose Amaro for season

Admin - September 1, 2015

According to various reports, TE Jace Amaro will have shoulder surgery, which will sideline him for the rest of the season. He'll be placed on the injured reserve list. Head coach Todd Bowles said that Amaro had a torn labrum. The Jets also placed DE Kevin Vickerson on IR and waived CB Dashaun Phillips who was injured.

This is a big blow for Amaro, who was expected to elevate his game this season after showing flashes last year. The Jets drafted him last year in the second round and he caught 38 passes for 345 yards, 2 TDs in his rookie season.

Vickerson was a depth signing in this year's free agency. He's a 8-year veteran with 44 starts in 86 NFL games.

These three moves got the Gang Green to the NFL roster limit of 75 players ahead of today's 4 PM ET deadline.
