Jets select Quinnen Williams in first round

The New York Jets selected DT Quinnen Williams from Alabama with their first round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft. Williams, 6'3", 303 lbs, recorded 71 tackles (45 solo), including 19.5 tackles for loss and 8.0 sacks, last season for the Crimson Tide.  According to the Pro Football Focus, Williams had the highest production grade ever for an interior defensive lineman.

Williams has one of the quickest first steps in this draft class and can constantly blow up the run and pass game. He also has the ability to collapse the pocket regularly defeat double-teams. Williams is relentless and  always plays with high intensity. According to several websites, he has All-Pro potential and can be a Pro Bowler by the second year.

The New York Post reports that the Jets were looking to trade their #3 overall pick but could not find a suitable deal. So, they selected the best player available - Quinnen Williams.
