Jets retain Daniel Brown, add safety from CFL

The New York Jets have re-signed TE Daniel Brown, who was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next month, to a one-year extension. Brown, 27, played in all 16 games last season, starting in 5. He caught 7 passes for 72 yards, and scored one touchdown. He also finished third on the team with 11 special teams tackles. Brown, who was originally signed by the Ravens as an undrafted free agent, also played for Baltimore and Chicago.

In other news, the Gang Green also signed S Anthony Cioffi who played last season in the CFL. He had 97 tackles, 4 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and a touchdown on defense for Ottawa. In 2017, Cioffi signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers. He never played a regular season game in the NFL.
