Jets bring back Neville Hewitt and Arthur Maulet

ILB Neville Hewitt, who started in 12 games for the Jets last year, is back with the team. According to, the Gang Green agreed to a 1-year $2M deal with Hewitt. He turned out to be a very valuable backup last year when he replaced injured C.J. Mosley in the middle.

Hewitt, 26, joined the Jets on a 1-year deal in 2018 after 3 seasons with the Dolphins. He started 4 games in 2018, recording 39 tackles (26 solo) and 1.5 sacks. While filling in for the injured starters in 2019, Hewitt recorded 75 tackles (44 solo), 3 sacks and 2 interceptions. He was involved in 69% of all defensive snaps and 27% of snaps on special teams.

The Jets also brought back CB Arthur Maulet, who was a restricted free agent, to a 1-year deal. He played in 12 games last season, starting in 6 of them. Maulet recorded 26 tackles (12 solo) and had one interception.
