Chiefs a justifiable chalk for Super Bowl LV

Admin - February 2, 2021

Of course, Tom Brady’s championship rings command Super Bowl betting respect. Brady turned in one of the most impactful seasons of his career in 2020. For decades Tampa Bay was associated with buffoonery. Now they are known as the NFC champions. Indeed, there is more to the Buccaneers than the GOAT of quarterbacks. Brady chose Tampa Bay for that very reason. In turn, he was tired of shouldering the entire New England offensive burden. Problematic for Brady and the Buccaneers is their Super Bowl opponent. Kansas City is a force of nature when focused.

Super Bowl LV BetNow Wagering Analysis

Tom Brady has made an NFL betting impact with the lines at BetNow Sportsbook. A lot of wise guys see the Chiefs as a bargain. In their win over Buffalo in the AFC championship game, Kanas City turned on its full power. Oddsmakers and the gambling community took notice. But the magnitude of Brady’s reputation has kept the betting line at a mere three points.

A New Reid on Andy

Lost in his bad ending and firing at Philadelphia is the fact that Andy Reid won big there. To illustrate, Reid was 130-93-1 for the Eagles from 1999 through 2012. He led Philadelphia to nine playoff appearances. Despite all of that success, the Eagles made only one Betting on Super Bowl matchup. Ironically enough, they lost to Brady and the Patriots in Super Bowl XXXIX for the 2004 season championship.

Kansas City hired Reid just a few days after Philadelphia fired him. And “Big Red” made an immediate impact. He took a 2-14 Chiefs team to an 11-5 playoff campaign in his first season. Overall, Reid’s record at KC is 91-37. His win percentage is .711 compared to .583 at Philadelphia.

Specifically, Reid distinguishes himself as the most brilliant and creative play-caller in the NFL. Kansas City’s offense flashes sets that confound football experts. Play designs never before seen in football are routine for Reid’s Chiefs.

The MVP Comeback Machine

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has made the Chiefs the most desired team with the Super Bowl betting odds. Mahomes was the 2018 NFL MVP and was the Super Bowl MVP last year. By reason of leading the Chiefs to three 2019 postseason comeback wins, Mahomes owns the “Captain Comeback” reputation. This year Mahomes engineered three 4th quarter comeback wins.

Last year Mahomes stunned football with his comeback prowess. Kansas City fell behind the Houston Texas 24-0 in the AFC playoffs. Mahomes triggered a terrifying 41-0 rally that parked the Chiefs to a 51-31 win. Subsequently, the Chiefs rallied from 17-7 down to beat the Tennessee Titans 35-24 in the AFC championship game.  But it was the Super Bowl where Mahomes confirmed his greatness. Kansas City rallied from 20-10 down with under seven minutes to play to score a 31-20 Super Bowl betting triumph.

Reid and Mahomes Own Nuclear Weaponry

Tight end Travis Kelce and wide receiver Tyreek Hill are a tandem of terror no other team can match. More empathically, Kelce and Hill are game-breakers for the Super Bowl lines. Kelce has a staggering 21 catches in the 2020 NFL Playoffs. And then Hill brings an additional 17 catches with 16.6 yards per reception in the postseason. Hill is a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro. In like manner, Kelce is a six-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro.

So too, is another dangerous weapon in kicker Harrison Butker. The four-year pro is 121 out of 134 for his career on field goals. It follows that he was 25 of 27 on field goals in the 2020 campaign.
