Jets agree with DE Carl Lawson

The New York Jets have agreed to terms on a 3-year, $45M, deal with DE Carl Lawson, formerly of the Cincinnati Bengals. The deal includes $30M in guaranteed money and could go up to $47.4M total. Lawson spent four seasons with the Bengals who selected him in the 4th round of the 2017 draft.

Lawson, 25, was #5 best free agent on the market and #4 best pass-rusher, according to NFL.com. Lawson recorded career high 8.5 sacks in his rookie season. He played in only 7 games the following year, as he tore his ACL in Week 8. Last season Lawson played on all 16 games (11 starts), recording team best 5.5 sacks, 36 tackles (16 solo) and forcing 2 fumbles. He also had team best 32 quarterback hits (entire team had 73) and 44 quarterback pressures.

This is a great addition to the Gang Green's defensive line that haven't had a proven pass-rusher in years.
