It just keeps getting worse for the winless Jets. S Marcus Maye, arguably the team's best defensive player, will reportedly miss 3-4 weeks with an ankle injury. As the other Gang Green's starting safety, Lamarcus Joyner, suffered a season ending injury in Week 1, the Jets will go into Week 4 matchup against the Titans without both starting safeties.
S Jarrod Wilson and S Adrian Colbert are currently the only active safeties on the Jets’ roster. Second year S Ashtyn Davis (foot) and S Sharrod Neasman (hamstring) returned to practice on Wednesday. The Jets now have 21 days to activate them from injured reserve.
