One day after reaching an agreement with WR Garrett Wilson on a 4-year contract extension, the New York Jets also extended their other 2022 draft pick, CB Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner. It's a 4-year extension worth a total of $120.4M, including $60M in guaranteed money. This contract makes Gardner the highest paid cornerback in the NFL.
Gardner, 24, was drafted at #4 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. He made the All Pro and Pro Bowl squads in the first two years with the Jets. He was also named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2022. Gardner's production noticeably diminished last year, as he had one interception and only 9 passes defended.
