Jets strengthen their position in power rankings

Admin - October 19, 2010

Following their fifth win in a row, the New York Jets reinforced their position in the top 3 of power rankings, as they now have the best record in the league (5-1). The Baltimore Ravens, who were ahead of the Jets a week ago, lost to the Patriots, letting the Gang Green into the top two in all three power rankings. Both ESPN and FOX Sports moved them up to #2 (from #3 a week ago), while CBS Sports raised the Jets' stock to the top of the table (also from #3 a week ago).

Here's what the top 3 websites had to say about the Jets:

ESPN:  Rex Ryan enters the bye week with what he bragged about -- the league's best record.

FOX Sports: The Jets are proving that last year's postseason performance was no fluke. They have tremendous balance on offense, which many doubted would be possible coming into the regular season. But the resurgence of veteran RB LaDainian Tomlinson is a big part of that.

CBS Sports: They get to the top with two teams losing. And they've earned it. Winning at Denver is never easy, especially on a short week.
