Jets stock crashes down in power rankings

The Gang Green's stock that's been floating in the top 20 throughout the entire rollercoaster season finally came crashing down. The loss against the Baltimore Ravens seemed to have finally made all experts realize that the 2013 New York Jets just weren't good enough to make the playoffs. ESPN placed the Jets at #22  (down from #16 last week). CBS Sports agreed, putting the Gang Green at #22 as well (down from #15). ProFootballTalk had them at #21 (down from #16). CNN SI lowered the Jets' stock by 7 spots, from #18 to #25. Only FOX Sports kept Rex Ryan's team in the top 20, putting them at #20 (down from #15).

ESPN: How bad can it get? Geno Smith completed seven of 18 passes inside the pocket for 97 yards and two interceptions Sunday. Smith had averaged 15.1 completions per game inside the pocket this season.

FOX Sports: The Jets have now scored 10-or-fewer points in three of their last six games and have now lost back-to-back games for the first time this season.

CBS Sports: Geno Smith just isn't playing very well. Is it time for a change? Why bother.

ProFootballTalk: The playoffs ended Sunday in Baltimore.

CNN SI: Geno Smith has gone more than a month without a touchdown pass -- his last came in the Jets' Week 7 win over New England. Since then, he has seven picks and a giant goose egg in the plus column. Figuring out how many of the offensive issues are his fault will be priority No. 1 for the Jets in the coming weeks and months.

Next Sunday the New York Jets will take on the Oakland Raiders (4-8). The Gang Green are favored by 2.5 points despite dropping three straight. Don't be surprised if the line changes in Oakland's favor, as the Jets have looked absolutely atrocious lately.
