It sure looks like everyone is a believer now, as all websites placed the New York Jets in the top 10 of their power rankings. FOX Sports' ranking is the highest - #7, which is up from #14 last week. ESPN and Pro Football Talk both have the Gang Green at #9 (up from #15 and #14 respectively). Yahoo Sports put the Jets at #8 (up from #13 last week). Finally, CBS Sports, who are probably still on the fence, upped Todd Bowles' team to #10 (#17 last week).
Here's what the power rankings websites had to say about the Jets:
ESPN: The Jets are 3-1 for the first time since 2010. That was also the most recent time they made the playoffs.
FOX Sports: The decision to trade a late-round draft pick for Brandon Marshall has paid immediate dividends -- he is doing an excellent job as the focal point of the team’s passing game. With Sheldon Richardson set to return after the Week 5 bye, watch out for this defense to evolve into one of the NFL’s truly elite.
CBS Sports: At 3-1, the defense might be scary good. Todd Bowles is already building this team in his mold.
ProFootballTalk: The Jets hadn’t killed a coach this convincingly since Rich Kotite.
Yahoo Sports: I dislike that coaches refuse to make necessary moves just because they don't want to mess with a winning streak. The Jets are winning but it's not like Ryan Fitzpatrick is playing out of his mind. It'll be an interesting call for coach Todd Bowles when Geno Smith is healthy again.
