Power rankings: Jets hanging on

Admin - November 19, 2015

The Jets continued hanging around the top 10 in the latest edition of power rankings despite their embarrassing loss against the Buffalo Bills. CBS Sports kept them at #9, which is exactly where they had them a week before. Yahoo Sports, on the other hand, even moved the Gang Green up from #12 to #10. Pro Football Talk also kept their ranking unchanged at #12. Only ESPN and FOX Sports reacted to the Jets' loss rather predictably, lowering the Gang Green's stock to #13 and #12 respectively.

Here's what the power rankings websites had to say about the Jets:

ESPN: The Jets have lost three of their past four, allowing 27.3 points per game in that stretch. The Jets started 4-1, allowing 15 points per game in those first five contests.

FOX Sports: The Jets have had arguably the NFL’s best run defense over the past two seasons, but have now allowed 266 yards rushing over their last two games.

CBS Sports: That was a bad loss at home to the Bills. Now they have to find out if Ryan Fitzpatrick can play well after thumb surgery.

ProFootballTalk: To say that the honeymoon is over for Todd Bowles would be to assume that Jets fans ever really gave him one.

Yahoo Sports: I'm not sure why we're so quick to pick nits with Darrelle Revis this season. He held Sammy Watkins to three catches and 17 yards. Everyone is quick to point out that Watkins had a drop and that he beat Revis deep once but the Bills couldn't connect ... and that kind of proves the point. People are needing to look very, very closely to find reasons to discredit Revis.
